Rob Bell’s Atlantic Wall

Rob Bell explores the stories of achievement, tragedy and engineering mastery behind Hitler’s Atlantic Wall, a colossal but ultimately doomed line of defences protecting Europe’s West Coast from the Allies.

Rob Bell says: “The fascination of this defensive line for me lies in its structural engineering, in the strategic role many positions played in relation to Hitler’s plans and fears, and in the individuals tasked with its creation. And whilst ultimately, historians will look back on it as a failure, I feel that these enduring great lumps of concrete tell more intimate tales about WW2 than might initially feel possible”.
